Carol McGiffin has announced her departure from ITV's Loose Women. After more than a decade talking about her life, and just about everyone else's, Carol - currently entertaining millions in the Celebrity Big Brother 2013 house - is heading for the door.

However, this move comes hot on the heels of a rumoured shake-up of the lunchtime series which could see the current line-up change yet again. Has Carol jumped before she was pushed?

Talking in her Sunday People column, she revealed: "When the show returns for its 18th series, I will no longer be on the panel. I'm sure some of you will rejoice but those who might be so pleased deserve some sort of explanation."

She added: "I'd been thinking about it for at least a year. It seems mad to quit one of the best jobs in the world - you talk for an hour with like-minded women and get paid. But I felt I'd completely plundered my private life and exhausted my repertoire of anecdotes to the point of boring myself."

Carol is the longest-serving member of the current panel. She is renowned for her frank opinions and brutal honesty; the show will definitely miss her. Loose Women has had many nips and tucks since it started back in 1999; take a trip down memory lane and see how it all began.
