Jedward have done Ireland proud in the Eurovision 2012 semi-finals! The Dublin-born duo are through to the finals of the show, which are being held this Saturday in Azerbaijan.
The blonde twins are one of 10 acts who made it through in the first round of semi-finals. The second round will be held on Thursday 25 May, when 18 other hopefuls will be taking to the stage in the hopes of making Saturday's final.
So far, after the first round, according to PA, the following countries have qualified for the final: France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Azerbaijan. Online site, Trend, reports that: Montenegro, Latvia, Switzerland, Belgium, Finland, Israel, San Marino, Austria all left the contest.

Dare I say that they were at least better than that 'rapper' from Montenegro? I wondered if he was a reincarnation of Meatloaf. Jedward and ADHD come to mind.
Regardless of who sings, i predict the following:
The Russian and former Russian/USSR countries will vote for each other as will the Scandanavian countries and the Balkan countries and the Iberian Countries. Meanwhile Greece will not vote for Turkey and vice versa (all due to a tiny island called Cyprus) and finally nobody will vote for the UK, despite the fact that we are one of the big 5 who pump most of the money in to keep this well-past-its-use-by-date programme going. Any bets that this is what happend with the EU parliament as well? I think the truth is closer than you think.
By the way, if sympathy votes count for anything, any bets the Russian grannies will walk it?

Give them a break, this contest is awful, political and most of the performers are dreadful, they have a good change of winning and they do bring a smile ...... better them than some weird song/performances' from the rest of the contestants. Good luck to the boys..... their wee mum must be so proud.

I cannot understand how the majority of comments on here lack any humour at all. We all know they are not great singers but they are 'perfect', for the Eurovision Clown/Song Contest. All the acts from Europe are not exactly talented and they all wear wacky outfits and dance silly. Jedward are perfect for this hilarious show. You should all stop being sooo serious. When was the last time UK had a decent act? The show is and always will be a joke.

Yes its quite obvious Ireland dont want to win, theyre simply showing the world they have a sense of humour towards this show. Bring back Terry Wogan too, he had the whole political voting setup worked out and old man Dorsey isnt going to win either.

I have only seen Jedwood on tv for a couple of minutes but during that time I felt thoroughly entertained. They remind me of some of the light hearted performers from the seventies when it was all about fun and it was still legal to smile, you know before the paranoia set in. If they are doing a rap version of 'my lovely horse' I for one will be rushing out to buy it.

Bonkers, useless and talentless they may be, but they are unique and certainly memorable.. so maybe Ireland have the right idea and we all get it wrong.. How on earth Englebert was chosen to represent us beggars belief... but then look at the grannies of Russia.. seems to be the general trend... they will soon be calling it the OAP's Eurovision...

well if the whole of Ireland picked them twice ...and they got to the finals twice and came in at 8 last time i find it hard to agree that they cant dance or sing and are talentless ..maybe nada is not a very good talent scout...
