actually they being the traveller community do live near to me and i have never had a problem nor anyone else i know, travellers,youths, black, white, asian, whatever culture nick and steal and scare that unfortunately is how our lives are being invaded by people, i just don't like people catagorising everyone in a culture as being bad because of criminals, we all have bad around us pity society cant handle it and abolish crime altogether, note these are only my views as are yours this is what makes us different!!!!!1

I am a Romany Gypsy,and in answer to the last comment, these people work and save for these weddings.They dont waiste their money in the pubs or on drugs,its all above board,not like some people from the settled community and they are not hurting anyone by showing off their culture and traditions.there are all sorts of people to make the world go around

Why does society have to be so bitter and twisted as to categorise that gypsies con old women out of their money, such hostility against someone who is different from you, shame on you and i bet there are more crimes committed by your culture than there's, the world has enough badness in it let alone small minded people, why can't they have what they want on their wedding days!!! can't wait for the new series.

in live in the states and have never witnessed a wedding quite like this in ,y life. I 've been watching this show and it's purely entertaining. I see no harm in watching these weddings ... looks like the whole community supports them and it's their tradition ... nice of them to share with the rest of the world.

A pretty funny programme love to see who can outdo the other with styles of dresses they are OTT though - struggling to walk and all the bling and false accessories makes me laugh thinking about it lol

Dresses like this usually belong to some of the Irish Traveller community, and then not all. Gypsies do not have these dresses, there is a huge difference between the communities. For every one wedding like this there will be hundreds more understated.

i think the dresses are beautiful yeah some people give them an ugly look but if u think about it what about if they turn a face up at you at what you are wearing at a wedding its there culture to do whatever they won't and i think we should leave them to it. can't wait for the serious to start.

Perhaps it might be remembered that the guy who picked up the man who had been mugged in the "Good Samaritan " story Jesus told, was one of a despised minority at that time. Let's call the story "the Good Roma Gypsy" or the "Good Irish traveller" We don't have to be un-streetwise or lie down in front of individuals who rip us off, but we must be willing to love without condition, and help if we can. @sylvia johnstone I concur with most of what you said although it is a gross generalization. Bearing in mind the number of active criminals compared to the British population it is not a homogenous representation of any community only a small sub-culture mainly due to the numbers been so small. I have to point out that unfortunately a lot of people have been conned, rob, and burgled by members of the traveller community, but I DO NOT assume the perpetrators to be a homogenous representation of the travelling community, whether it by gypsies that have their origin from regions around the river Yamuna, or the european travellers that people mistakenly through ignorance call "irish" travellers due to their accent. Although they have been travelling not just the length and breadth of Britain to ancient sites, but Europe and North africa too.
I respect all life I do so hope that you do to as the only path to peace is to dispel of all forms of ignorance and suppression, oppression. In the words of Bob Marley "emancipate yourself from mental slavery" .
