Desperate Scousewives
The Desperate Scousewives cast are hoping for a second series, but reports suggest it may end up a one-hit TV wonder. In this gallery, we take a look at some shows that arrived in a blaze of glory, and departed as failures.
Reports suggest E4 reality soap Desperate Scousewives is unlikely to be commissioned for a second series. It launched in 2011 to an overnight average of 562,000 viewers (including E4 +1). However, it rarely hit those ratings heights again.
Like fellow reality soaps The Only Way Is Essex, Made In Chelsea and Geordie Shore, Desperate Scousewives takes "real" (surreal) people and films them in "real" (scripted) situations in exchange for cash. The action takes place in Liverpool, but judging by the ratings and column inches in the tabloids, celeb mags and websites, the Scousewives crew have largely failed to sufficiently excite viewers.
