Coronation Street: first look at Rob Donovan and Ryan Connor
Coronation Street bosses show off Carla Connor's long lost brother and the actor who will play Michelle Connor's son.

Marc Baylis joins Coronation Street
Coronation Street bosses have been busy on the casting front; they have found two new hunky men. Marc Baylis has signed on as Carla Connor's brother and actor Sol Heras will play Michelle Connor's son.
Auditions began in March for a heartthrob actor to play bad boy Rob, the long-lost brother of knicker factory boss Carla, played by Alison King.
Take a look at 33-year-old Marc Baylis, who has been cast in the role. Marc said: "I feel incredibly honoured to be joining the very talented cast of Coronation Street. Rob is an exciting character to play and I am hoping he is going to ruffle a few Weatherfield feathers."
Corrie producer Phil Collinson added: "I'm very pleased to welcome Marc to the cast - the latest in a long line of handsome Corrie charmers. Carla's brother Rob is sure to set hearts fluttering in Weatherfield from the minute he arrives."
He added: "The audience can expect thrills and a few broken hearts when this handsome bad boy hits town."
Marc's previous TV roles include guest appearances on Law And Order: UK, E4 teen sci-fi drama Misfits and playing a New Year's reveller in BBC soap EastEnders in 2009.

Corrie's new men: Marc Baylis and Sol Heras
Rob Donovan will arrive on the cobbles in early summer, straight out of prison, to help recovering alcoholic Carla make a fresh start. The ladies' man will quickly set his sights on Eva Price, daughter of Rovers Return landlady Stella. Eva is currently dating restaurant manager Nick Tilsley.
The role of Michelle's son Ryan has been recast, and will now be played by Sol Heras. He will be back on the cobbles after being thrown out of university in Glasgow.
Producer Phil Collinson said: "Ryan returns carrying a dark secret and Michelle is going to have the fight of her life as she battles to get her troubled son back on the straight and narrow. Sol is a brilliant young actor and I'm so excited to welcome him to the cast."
Fans may recognise Sol from ITV1 flop Rock Rivals (which starred Corrie's Michelle Collins) and E4's Hollyoaks Later.
So that's two bad boys for Coronation Street this summer (certainly explains the theme of the photo above). Has David Platt been deposed?
Apparently, Rob and Ryan will even square up against each other when Rob decides to "teach Ryan a thing or two about family loyalty". That all sounds very EastEnders to me.

Fair hair and blue eyes.............obvious choice for Carla's brother, you can see the likeness! Likewise the "new" son for Michelle, how thrilled will he be to have a mother who looks like a tart?
What is Phill Collinson's obsession with "friends and friends of friends" from the gay community, and all the rejects from Hollyoaks? His enthusiasm for ruining Corrie is long past being funny. Get rid of him, please, he's ripping the heart and soul out of a once great "soap".

Is it me getting older ,or are the soaps now that far from the original storylines that the characters are unrecognisable , I mean as a northerner the people in Emmerdale & Corrie seem like foreigners . Londoners must feel the same about Eastenders , all sex and con-men , sad reflection on our modern society really ! .

Well I don't mind if they recast certain characters after they been absent for a while, but the lad above looks very very different to the skinny emo who played him first and why do they always have a dark secret on their return. I'll bet there will be some kind of psychopath or serial killer involved. boring. Also the current storyline with tina, the duckworths and the det collector is just ridiculous. As if. I love corrie. eillen's storyline is brilliant but more than often they take it too far these days. Please, no more murders for at least 2 years. it's boring!

Right.... so Ryan has been recast, I HATE recasts! Was wrong for Lucy AND Lauren in Eastenders and it's wrong here, they don't even TRY and make them look the same! If the original actor can't come back then leave the damn character alone! They never play them the same and it ruins it! The new Ryan is nowhere near as gorgeous as the old one in my opinion, just leave it alone!!

Corrie was the only soap with real heart felt humour (BLANCH) and characters with real depth, where the story lines were thought through and not churned out to get on the p,c bandwagon. PLEASE DO NOT TURN CORRIE INTO A PLACE OF MURDERERS AND PROSTITUTES!!!!
Stopped watching eastenders for that very reason. And come on who would get back with their partner after being buried alive, How many ex pros in eastenders now days one less since pat passed over to become an animal trainer, (Perfect credentials after working on that soap) Only joking i love phil mitcthel. But seriously when story lines dry up they bring back long lost relatives that have never been mentioned, throw in some lotto or inheritence money or av an affair. How very original.

Anyone else like me as soon as corrie comes on reaches for the remote to change channels. Never use to as I really enjoyed it but lately it's gone from bad to worse and judging by what I have just read it's going down hill fast shame.
