Adam Richman, the genial presenter of Man v Food has done it again with new Food Network UK show Fandemonium.
A Chinese TV programme called IPartment is at the centre of a sitcom storm; it has been accused of lifting plotlines and jokes from American comedies including Friends.
According to the Daily Telegraph, indignant Chinese fans of the popular US shows have posted screenshots and messages on social media outlets highlighting the similar scenes. "Is [Ipartment] only intended for those born after 1990, who have not watched Friends?" one viewer said.
Friends centred around a group that included a paleontologist, a struggling actor and a chef in New York City; Ipartment's cast includes a computer programmer, a radio broadcaster and a university lecturer. It's set in Shanghai.
A spokesperson for the programme denied plagiarism, insisting Ipartment is more of a homage to the popular US predecessor. In this gallery, find out more about the Chinese sitcom.
