Cheryl Fergison signs up for Celebrity Big Brother

It was inevitable really. From the moment ex-EastEnders actress Cheryl Fergison said she wouldn't rule out doing a bit of reality TV, it was just a matter of time before a show nabbed her.
And it's Celebrity Big Brother that has secured Cheryl's signature.
The actress, who played Heather Trott for nearly five years, recently revealed her love of reality shows on This Morning: "I like the jungle (I'm A Celebrity)... I like watching Big Brother... all of those things! I do like them all so you never know... Would I go to Australia? I'd go anywhere!"
Cheryl Fergison was "shocked" when soap bosses told her that her character was being axed. The 47-year-old was a popular fixture as George Michael-obsessed, Alice band-wearing cheese fanatic Heather.
"I don't know why they did it," she told The Sun a few weeks ago. "I love playing Heather, but I guess she is like Marmite - people either love her or hate her."
Channel 5 will run two editions of Big Brother this summer; the celebrity version and the non-celebrity version.

I agree with the previous post, Shirley should have gone - Heather was a jolly, sweet character, and always brought a smile, whereas Shirley, is just a walking disaster! I know it's her character to look such a 'scrag-end', as one of the actors said, but she is always so aggressive!

they should have got rid of shirley...that woman puts me off eastenders...i have seen plenty of actors come from programmes we have watched for years and you get used to seeing them in our soaps quite quickly but not shirley....rubbish actress...i will never understand the thinking of getting rid of heather...thats like getting rid of alfie...not a good idea

There are so many baddies in Eastenders now that Heather was needed to balance up the goodies. Now they are involving the much loved character of Alfie with Derek (wish they would take him out) hurry back Kat and get Alfie back in line. Wish they could find a miracle cure for Jean! She obviously isn't taking the medication lately. Shirley is really getting on my nerves too, first the jealousy over Heather and Andrew and now the crocodile tears over Heather, wish someone would give her a treat at the beauty parlour or at the very least a comb. Now according to the spoilers they are going to let Michael con poor old Jean out of her money, please hurry up back Kat and get your family in line. Bet Janine loses the baby!!! The writers can't possibly turn the murdering bi**h into a good caring mother, no one has that much imagination. What I would really like to see is rioters coming into Walford and Derek getting trampled on and killed, Ben getting involved and murdered (this will make sure they never bring him back) and Michael arrested for fraud and Janine losing her millions and Barry coming back to haunt her. WELL IT IS ONLY FANTASY!!!

I WAS GUTTED WHEN BBC SAID THEY WERE AXING CHERYL, I THOUGHT HER CHARACTER WAS BRILLIANT, THEY SHOULD HAVE JUST LET HER LEAVE WITH ANDREW SO THE DOOR COULD HAVE BEEN LEFT OPEN FOR HER. SHE PLAYED A FANTASTIC PART AND I LOVED HER, THE SAME AS JEAN, I LOVE HER CHARACTER SO, SO MUCH, SHE REMINDS ME OF ME AND MY CHILDREN ALWAYS CALL ME JEAN SLATER, THEY SAY, OOH NOO, MOTHERS HAVING A JEAN SLATER MOMENT.
