BINTM 2012: Tasmin Golding - 'I was really naïve'

Sky Living
Tas revealed to us that she 'felt nervous all the time' when she was on the show.
Another week and another contestant of this series of Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model is sent home. This time, we caught up with Tasmin Golding about her time on the Sky Living show.
Was your experience on the show everything you thought it would be?
I went into the show being really naïve about what it would be like. It was very over whelming, the whole thing. It was a great experience though and I'm so happy I did it?
What was the most overwhelming thing about being on the show?
It was the living and being filmed which I found overwhelming and that side of it was hard for me.
You took part in some amazing photo shoots, which was your favourite and why?
The photo shoots were great, I loved that! I really liked the prison one, where we were in the prison. And I actually liked the one I did before I got eliminated. I thought I did alright!

Tas wasn't a fan of the butterfly photo shoot.
Your most recent photo shoot involved you portraying a man - what were the main challenges of this?
I've never modelled before. I've done nothing. The only photos I've ever had taken are on my IPhone! I found it hard to think of poses and to think of what to do. It was fun though and I really enjoyed it.
Which photo shoots didn't you enjoy as much?
The one where we had to hang as butterflies. It hurt! It was kind of lame too. Well, it was cool but it wasn't terribly exciting! So I guess it was my least favourite.
Looking back, do you think you were fairly edited?
I don't really talk a lot. I was very nervous the whole time, so they couldn't really edit me as they didn't have much to work with! I was overwhelmed by the whole camera thing, so I wasn't really being myself. I'm not really shy or quiet, but I guess it might come across that way, as I was so nervous. Just because you knew that if you said something, they could change it. I didn't want to embarrass myself or be seen as a fool. So I kind of spent the whole time worrying - I should have chilled out! It was scary.

Sky Living
Tas told us that her favourite judge is Tyson.
Elle said that the judges saw so much potential in you but it didn't really translate into your pictures, was this a fair comment?
Elle is one of the most successful supermodels of all time, I think she knows what she's talking about! So, if that's what they thought, I'm sure it was true.
How was it being with the celebrity judges?
It was hard being in front of the judging panel - you're actually there for four hours and it's exhausting. It's so much harder than people think. At the end of it, you're exhausted so you're like: 'eliminate me or keep me!'
Who was your favourite judge?
I liked Tyson, as he's from the same ends as me - we're both from Jamaica. I like him, he's a nice guy and on the photo shoots he was supportive and I really needed it!

Sky Living
Tas had fun living in the house with her fellow contestants.
What was it like living in the house with all the girls?
I went to boarding school, so I was kind of used to living with other girls. So for me, that wasn't too bad. It was just not getting to speak to your family, which was a bit hard.
Who's your tip to win?
I really hope that Lisa or Roxy do well, as I think that if they won they would be humble and genuine.
