Benedict Cumberbatch in Twitter name storm
His name is a bit of a tongue twister already. Because, admit it, who hasn't stumbled slightly when saying: Benedict Cumberbatch. And now it seems his name has caused a storm on Twitter...

BBC
Benedict Cumberbatch
Tweets started flying thick and fast when Sherlock Holmes actor Benedict Cumberbatch was named in a Washington Post article as: Bandersnatch Cummerbund.
Yes, you read that correctly.
According to the Telegraph, Lisa de Moraes, who wrote the original Washington Post article, has responded saying:
"It has come to our attention that there is raging debate, in re: whether we intentionally referred to Benedict Cumberbatch as Bandersnatch Cummerbund in The TV Column and blog. The nickname "Bandersnatch Cummerbund" originated with one of the serious students of television who join me each Friday to chat about all things TV."

Not scientifically valid. Results are updated every minute.
Still, that didn't stop the topic trending on Twitter and sparked a furious debate among tweeters.
@willbuxton Tweeted: "Amazing Washington Post typo renames Benedict Cumberbatch: Bandersnatch Cummerbund. This needs to be his new name. Amazing." While @The_No_Show reckoned: "The fact is, his real name is Bandersnatch Cummerbund. The other one's the typo."
The original article that sparked the debate was titled Sherlock Vs Downton, and featured the typo in the last paragraph. Earlier in the same article, it had referenced the spelling correctly. The Washington Post has posted an update, which you can read here.
