The possession of confidence does not demand that you shun all your personal values or morals in order to adopt a new facade which comports more closely to the new personality you want to achieve. I mean, you can try to become someone else you are not, but you are in a shoo in to fail. A character whose change strikes more sharply compared to others is that of Frank. She used to be a timid-keep-to-herself sort of girl and now she can be seen as a wild party hussy. If they wanted to show that some characters have indeed become more confident they should have done so to a lesser extent. What's being shown is not confidence but rather one who's embarrassing oneself. None of the previous generations manage to work on that very well but at least they did it more consistently.
anyone who complains Skins is only about, sex, nudity or drugs, has obviously never watched the programmes, it is so much more than that, great show, I actually prefered the second Effy,Cook,Naomily generation, the 5th series was the weakest, I think the writers know that and the new series will be much better
i hope that Frankie
dose not die if she dose i will never watch skins any more as i have liked Frankie the start of series 5 to series and she should be in it a lot longer that if it's Frankie that die's hope that she dose not
frankie is a cool kid
I actually enjoyed all of them, to be honest I loved series 3/4 the most, but only because the beautiful Kaya Scodelario played a simply amazing part as Effy, just stunning, and I related to her so well.
But I really enjoyed series 5 too, I like the way the characters are more alternative, and it was a lot of fun, I loved Mattie and Liv, and Frankie is gorgeous, and is playing a good part too.
Was it on last night?Because if it was, I missed it
will definitely be watching it on 4OD though.
Simon-And how would you know why young people watch it?Me, my friends and my boyfriend watch it and we don't watch it for the nudity, we watch it because it relates to us.A lot of the things character's have gone through relate to me, Effy and her Mum's depression, Sid losing his Dad, Effy breaking down, all of which that relate to me in some way.I don't know why older people try and justify why young people watch it, you don't have a clue, mate, so just be quiet.
Simon-Excuse me?How dare you be so assumptious about my life? Some of the storylines HAVE related to some of the things that have happened to me, no not the drugs, the actual heartfelt storylines Skins has featured in the past. The mental illnesses, the deaths, the drug problems which I have experienced with family as well as friends. Some may watch it because they like to see a bit of arse, but I don't, I watch it because it's humorous, dramatic and relates to people. Not in every way, no of course not, the show is of course going to be unrealistic, what show isn't?Eastenders, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, Shameless, etc, I could go on and on.The only reason why your complaining is because Skins has lots of taboo subjects that alot of programmes are too scared to feature because of people like you complaining about it.
I may be only 18, but I don't watch Skins so I can go to work (I don't go to school or college) and gossip about it the next day, I've had to grow up really fast. For your information, my Dad passed away last November, my Mum's mentally ill, and life is hard for me at the moment, how dare you judge me just because I am a young girl?I like to watch Skins because it is enjoyable, and believe it or not, although it's far-fetched, a lot of the topics in it do happen.
Don't be so assumptious.A lot of people watch it for the same reasons I do.
