Nashville: Hayden Panettiere heats up the show
Nashville is More4's latest US import starring Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights) as country music legend Rayna James. Her star is fading fast so producers suggest a joint tour with up and coming starlet Juliette Barnes, played by Heroes' Hayden Panettiere.
Both singers are pursuing their own agendas; Juliette has plans to upstage her tour partner while Rayna believes that songs written for her by Scarlett O'Connor (Clare Bowen) will revive her career.
Rayna's father Lamar Hampton (24's Powers Boothe) is a powerful politician in Nashville; he forced her to marry freeloader Teddy Conrad (actor Eric Close).
Juliette is the young and sexy future of country music - let's face it, 'young and sexy' isn't exactly a stretch for Hayden Panettiere (and she does heat up the screen). However, both leading actresses also sing for real in this absorbing drama.
What's more, Hayden's performance was rewarded with a Golden Globe nomination (her first) in the Best Supporting Actress category at the 2013 Golden Globes. She lost out to Dame Maggie Smith for Downton Abbey.
Get a flavour of what's to come as Nashville kicks off on More4 from Thursday 7 February at 10pm.
