Lightfields: Sneak a peek at ITV's spooky drama
Lightfields is the follow-up to spooky, hit ITV drama, Marchlands which was broadcast to acclaim in 2011. If you recall, it wrapped up the loose ends when it concluded.
This presented something of a dilemma in terms of continuing the series because, on the face of it, making a sequel was impossible.
However, the producers have found a clever way to carry on the series; copy the format, but use different characters, setting and time periods.
Marchlands was set in a rural Yorkshire home in 1968, 1987 and 2010, and was tied together by the mysterious death of a little girl, Lightfields takes place in a Suffolk farmhouse in 1944, 1975 and 2012, with each era's plots linked to the disappearance of a teenager.
It has an impressive cast including Jill Halfpenny (EastEnders), Kris Marshall (My Family and the BT adverts), Sophie Thompson (EastEnders), Dakota Blue Richards (Skins) and Danny Miller (Emmerdale).
Get more of an idea of what's to come in Lightfields as we preview the series which starts on Wednesday 27 February at 9pm.
