It's been confirmed that young actress Jenna-Louise Coleman will be Doctor Who's new assistant.
Following in the footsteps of stunning flame-haired Karen Gillan, we think Jenna has exactly what it takes to exterminate critics and show what she's made of! She'll debut in the 2012 Christmas special, according to The Radio Times.
We reckon Ms Coleman will have to show her tough side, fighting sci-fi criminals and getting to grips with the trusty Tardis!

Like the gatekeeper I have watched Dr Who from the start - pretty much every episode - and obviously Tpm Baker was the best - but I think Matt Smith brings a similar quikyness to the role and is certainly a better Dr than a lot of them - (Colin Baker and Sylvestor McCoy spring to mind along with Patrick Troughton)
What has never been answered is what happened to his children or his grandadughter Susan? They are never refered to -

By the way, MSN, please get it right in your headline. The character's name is NOT Dr Who. He is just "The Doctor". Dr Who is the programme title.

Gatekeeper - who would you recommend as an actor to play the Doctor instead of Matt Smith? I can only really think of one - Benedict Cumberpatch. I personally think Matt is great in the role, but the stories need improving upon the previous series. Ultimately, no one has ever matched Tom Baker, but most of his best years were with Philip Hinchcliffe at the helm. As for Coleman, on the surface I think she'll make a great assistant (and is easy on the eye!), but it depends on what the makers of the show do with her character.

Well, I am sure that Jenna-Louise Coleman will be a welcome addition to the much travelled Tardis. I liked Karen Gillan a lot, and I am sure she will do well in the future. But, hopefully, the scripts will be much better since I lost interest in the last series due to utter boredom, caused by the confusing storylines.

Oh, and gatekeeper, if you look at the credits for the show, it has alternated between 'The Doctor' and 'Dr Who' over the years, although I, like yourself, prefer the former.

Great. All we need now is a new Doctor. Sorry, but I've watched Dr Who from the beginning, as well as the old ones when I was a kid, and Matt Smith just doesn't cut it for me. OK thumbs down merchants. Form an orderly queue now.

She reminds me of Elisabeth Sladen ( Sarah Jane) When she first appeared as the Dr Who assistant all those years ago ........ Yeah am sure she will do well.......The problem with the latest Dr he has'nt made the character his own like previous Drs such Jon Pertwee and David Tennnet to name but a few . David Tennet who i believe was the greatest Dr Who ever. The present Dr Who tries too hard on giving the same interpretation as the one given so well by David Tennet as Dr Who........
