Dancing on Ice will be axed after the 2014 series, and here we look at where the reality show floundered.
Dancing On The Edge: Chiwetel Ejiofor shines
Dancing On The Edge is writer/director Stephen Poliakoff’s first drama for BBC2. It stars acclaimed British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor (best known for TV series The Shadow Line and movie, Kinky Boots) in a tense jazz-driven drama set in the early 1930s.
Depicting a black jazz band in London, Dancing On The Edge relates the ramifications as a sudden death of one of the band members tests all of the characters’ friendships and moral values.
Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Louis Lester, the leader of the band. He is ambitious and driven, determined to succeed in an era that largely saw his colour before his talent.
The entire production is blessed with a veritable who’s who of the big and small screen.
The cast includes John Goodman (arguably still best remembered for TV sitcom, Roseanne), Jacqueline Bisset (lately of Nip/Tuck fame), comedian Mel Smith, Buffy and Merlin star Anthony Head, The Paradise’s Joanna Vanderham, Merlin’s Angel Coulby, Doctor Who star Jenna-Louise Coleman and veteran actress, Jane Asher.
Get a flavour of what's to come in a drama that airs on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 February at 9pm on BBC2. It has already received very positive press.

It would be helpful if you told us all when it starts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So far, so very very good. Beautifully recreated, filmed, acted, written and it always has a somewhat scary background which creates the impression that something bad or evil WILL happen......soon. Great hook line and I am certainly firmly attached to it and cannot wait for tonight's follow up.
Most black actors I've seen in a BBC drama in er 10 years that'l be it for another 10 years we'll have put up with our resident rep Lenny.ain death.
Great Drama glued sorry Wesley (Ariyon Bakare) going back to certain death.
Good show should be popular, zoot suites an all.
