It's results time! Does it get more exciting?
Which two acts will be out on their ear and who will survive to sing another day?
The word on Twitter is that Wagner and Katie will leave tonight but I'm not sure if Aiden will end up in the bottom three...
What about Storm Lee, will he be struck down before he has a chance to rock out? Will it be a case of the first act curse?

SHOW STARTS:
You're in for a treat tonight guys...
Not only do we have the results but there's also performances from Katy Perry and Diana Vickers (remember her?)
So who do you think will leave tonight?
I think it could be a close call but I hope Storm and Aiden get to fight another day, they've both had a rough week.
Click the discussion bar below to leave your views...
I have to laugh, is it just me or do the judges look like they're split into two camps?

As they walk out, Simon gives a knowing nod and raises his eyebrows cheekily to Cheryl... Cole and Louis are next to each other but there's no contact at all. Her body language says it all, she even has the arm nearest Louis behind her back.
Hang on, Louis is holding Dannii's hand! I don't think his BFF Sharon Osbourne will be happy about that. The same thing happened last week, check out the pic...

Is it Simon and Chezza V's Danni and Louis these days?
GROUP PERFORMANCE
Oooh, I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed the group song this week! Didn't they do well? The performance of Lady Gaga's Telephone was crisp and far more polished than last week's effort. The styling was co-ordinated and slick (apart from that evil bow perched on Rebecca's head) and the lines were split almost to match each artists genre - an example? The rock moments were Storm's!
DIANA VICKERS
What can I say? Fantastic production, great dancers, stunning outfit, she's bursting confidence... but not singing live - simples!
I'm rather disappointed, I always think the previous acts SHOULD sing live. I mean come on, isn't that what it's all about? If it was me I'd want to show the auditionees how it's done.

It was a great performance but I would have liked to hear her, I'm impressed by how professional she is in the interview with Dermot - not shy little Di anymore, more Di with a VA!

Time is up... Lines are now closed.
Vote count happening as we speak, time for Katy!
KATY PERRY
What's not to like? This girl can sing!
She looks stunning and sings her heart out, I love the fireworks backdrop, it even matches her outfit. Talk about striking, I'm almost 'ooing' and 'ahhing' like I'm at a display LOL!

Katy says it's just as nervewracking to perform as it is to be a judge. She's on tour soon but no point trying to buy a ticket they sold out in minutes.
IT'S RESULTS TIME!
Who do you think will be in the bottom three?
Click the discussion bar below to leave your views...
Through to next week are...
(In no particular order...)
Katie (shocker!)
John
Matt
Rebecca
One Direction
Mary
Cher
Paije
TreyC
Wagner (no way!)
and finally... Aiden.
Blimey, we have Belle Amie, Storm and Diva Fever in the bottom three. I had a funny feeling Storm would be there - the first act curse is in full effect peeps.
Leaving the show with the least amount of votes is... Storm!
Oh my God, I don't believe it!

The truth? It's all down to Louis if you ask me. Storm was an old style rock star and with the right styling and guidance he could have come out on top. We wanted to see one man on the stage belting his heart out like Bono, but we got Batman one week and Bikerboy the next. Poor song choices and plastic production - it was all too forced. All we wanted to see was him sing, what happed Walsh?
How can Wagner remain and Storm leave? Our rocker must be wondering what he did wrong.
THE JUDGES CHOICE
Either way Simon loses an act.
Diva Fever have to go surely? Belle Amie have so much more to give and the boys barely even sung last night - I hated that song.
I have to laugh, Diva Fever give us their rendition of the camp classic I Will Survive - at least they're singing!
The crowd are in the palm of their hand (well this is what they're all about right?)
The vocals are much better than yesterday but I'm not convinced. I have to ask how many covers these guys would do before enough was enough?

Belle Amie give an emotional performance. The nerves get the better of them at the start but they cuddle together and give a heartfelt rendition of Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie. For the first time you can see how close the girls have become. They should stay...

Louis chooses to keep the act that he believes will 'grow' through the competition. He sends home Diva Fever.
Dannii sends home Diva Fever... It could go to deadlock.
Cheryl agrees with the panel - Diva Fever are out.
I think the boys knew it was coming...
Belle Amie are in a different league.
Do you think the right act left tonight?
I thought it should have been Wagner and am so shocked that Storm has gone.
Now that they're out, Diva Fever don't hold back. Simon is stood right next to them but they don't care, they blame the song choice... Cowell smiles: "I take full responsibility, I let you down".
Do you think Simon was at fault or was it the boys time to leave?

Who will make it through tonight?
AIDEN GRIMSHAW
I'm not feeling this like last week are you?
From looking so intense and focused last week, Aiden looks nervous and on edge.

He sings Lennon's Jealous Guy well, but it's almost like he doesn't want to be there - maybe it's the enormity of the song or perhaps he didn't like the choice?
Louis: "John Lennon was the ultimate pop star. You gave that your own stamp and I think you are the next UK credible male pop star".
Cheryl: "I think you could be a credible artist but that performance was shaky tonight for me and I think you know that yourself - I'm not going lie to you or patronise you".
Simon: "I'm going to agree with Cheryl, last week you were on the money but this week nerves got the better of you".
Dannii: "I thought it was a great performance but by the look on your face it looks like you didn't enjoy it as much - you're a great performer with so much moe to give, please vote for Aiden".
Could Aiden be in the bottom three tonight?
Surely not.

WAGNER
I'm not sure if I'm going a little potty as each week passes, but I think Wagner's improving.
His rendition of Just Help Yourself by Tom Jones was far less manic than in recent weeks and we actually got to hear him sing - can you ask for more when it comes to an act like this?

Ouch! Dannii's a little harsh, she asks if it was all sang in English. Fortunately Wagner gives as good as he gets, "I can't help it, I've got an accent." Ms Minogue backpedals quickly, "aww.. I've got a terrible accent.. I know it's not your fault".
Cheryl says that she felt thrown back to the sixties and she "thoroughly enjoyed the dancers". Simon agrees, though he's more concerned about Wagner's lovelife than his singing: "embrace and enjoy the madness, this is Louis' vision. Can I ask you Wagner, are you getting it on with Mary?" (The crowd roar!)
"Mary is a wonderful soul, she's a noble woman with a great character - she's a great friend of mine".
Simon: "I'll take that as a yes!"
Louis encourages people to vote promising that next week is Wagner's big moment. "We won't be able to do it if people don't vote!"
Click the discussion bar below to leave your views...
KATIE WAISELL
It looks as though last week's near miss has taught young Katie a lesson.
She's stuck to the basics and comes out in a simple dress and just sings the song - 'bout time!

Her rendition of I'd Rather Go Blind by Etta James is understated and emotional to begin with and then 'pop' - she's belting out those power-notes before you can say "Drama Queen!"
How cute that Louis is willing her on. He's waving his finger as if to conduct her... Bless.
As she finishes her performance you can see how much it means, she's literally trembling.
Louis: "I'm so glad I saved you last week. You're a hard worker and you're emotional. You have a talent and I want people to give you another chance - please vote for Katie".
Dannii: "Nobody can deny that you sang with everything you had then and that's why I saved you. I didn't like your performance on the Saturday but I liked it on the Sunday when it was stripped back. I like that you've still got your personality and what we need to do that is show that..."
Simon: "This is all about potentially being a star and there's something about you that I like - there's a rawness and you're one of the acts that I always want to hear again. I thought that was brilliant actually."
Did Katie do it for you tonight?
She's growing on me you know and she could have escaped the bottom three with that performance.

BELLE AMIE
Right, if the girls are going to pull off The Kinks then they're gonna need some attitude this week!
I haven't been impressed with Belle Amie's image at all...
Well thank God for that! Finally the girls have some sex appeal and edge. This is how they should have been from the start Simon! I mean come on, they're gorgeous girls and the past few weeks they've looked like they're off to the supermarket.

(Please note: I'm not loving the outfits. Yes, they clash and there's too much going but hey, I'm just glad the girlies have snatched their spark!)
Louis: "That was so much better than last week. I love the fact that you've bonded and you look like you could be the next big girl band. You remind me of a young Girls Aloud, same styling and same vibe - Loved the song choice too Simon".
Dannii: "I loved that version of that song you did - really good.. but the styling didn't work for me. It's such a directional thing and then to put so much to the clothing too, it was distracting - for four good looking girls". (The crowd boo.)
Cheryl: "I really enjoyed that actually. It's not about who sings what, that's what happens when you're in a group. It was great to see you do an upbeat song and enjoy yourselves. That's what it's about, enjoying the 'group' Belle Amie".
Simon: "I want to thank everyone who voted for you last week. Tonight you turned into a group, you came across as four friends, it was fun, it was entertaining and I'll tell you, there aren't too many girl groups in the country who can perform like that - you're literally a breath of fresh air".

MARY BYRNE
Do you get the feeling she's going to raise the roof again?
Mary is performing Dusty Springfield's You Don't Have To Say You Love Me and I can hear the mortar cracking already..
Don't like the hair, I'm reminded of Emelda Marcos (but that's just me). The good news is she's nailing it.

Great performance, maybe not as intense as last week but the genre is different - same connection, same reaction from the crowd (standing ovation again).
Dannii: "I know you're nervous but you don't have to be nervous at all - that was priceless".
Cheryl: "I don't know what it is about you, you cover me in goosebumps. I respect you as a woman, I respect you as an artist and I believe every single word that you say".
Simon: "This is why I would never put an age limit on one of these shows. You should be able to compete with someone like Cher.. In terms of song choices, just do what you're doing because you're getting it one hundred percent right. I thought you would struggle in the finals but I'm happy to admit that I was wrong, I thought that was amazing again.."
MATT CARDLE
Matt belts out Bruno Mars' Just The Way You Are and I have to say, he has a sound all of his own.

What I love about Matt is that he has one of those radio voices that you'd just know a mile off, it's so important to have that as a recording artist. Will Young is a perfect example..
Dannii thought he was 'amazing'. "That was one of the hardest songs sung on the stage tonight and you absolutely nailed it".
Louis thinks Matt could have a number one this week with that track (the finalists performances can now be downloaded from iTunes, so it's perfectly possible).
Simon says that Matt is 'just like Rebecca' as they have similar histories. It's true that Matt is a grafter and has given this his all - fanstastic performance tonight.
So that's your lot!
Who stays and who goes?
They've all upped their game so it's a tough call.. but you have to pick two.

Who will leave tonight? Two acts must go!

Tonight it's not so much who will survive the battle, more about who'll be standing to fight!
If you read my last post, you'll know that the entire house has been hit by a virus and they've all been struggling with stomach and throat problems.
Thankfully it seems that most of the finalists are on the mend, but it's unclear as to how Storm Lee and Harry are doing as they were the worst hit and had to seek medical advice.
Will they be fit enough to perform or will we have our first no-show of the series?
Once again two acts must leave tonight, so who's your money on? I'm going for Wagner and Katie (not that she deserves it based on vocal, but she just hasn't clicked with the public).

STORM LEE
It's never good performing first as you're easily forgotten, but Storm has stepped up to the plate after last week's 'batman' disaster. His rendition of Born To Run is 'better' but still not what I'd expect, I'd just like to hear him belt out a rock song like he did in the auditions - raw and uncut. No dancers and no props, the whole 'sat on a motorbike' thing is a bit cliche don't you think?
...and since when do rock stars wear sequins? Bin the hat, dump the jacket and brink back the shabby blonde hair and we'd have us a rockin' outfit!

Great vocals though, I just hope he gets a chance to perform again next week - I wouldn't like to see him out before he's had a chance.
Dannii: "I know you were upset last week as there weren't many comments on the vocals. You sing VERY well... and you had the audience in the palm of your hand".
Cheryl: "I'm not completely sold on the fact that this is you. I'd like to see you stand and just sing, if that's what you want to be judged on".
Simon: "You're like a musical fly, you're all over the place. I do like a tryer though and you try hard".
Louis: "You opened the show with a bang. Springsteen was born to run and you were born to sing!"
TREYC COHEN
I cannot wait to hear TreyC's rendition of Purple Rain, especially after last week's performance - she nailed it.

Yep, same again - I have goosies and she's not even on the second chorus... Go on girl! Her voice is amazing, it's note perfect and she looks stunning. I'm so happy that her confidence is growing, it's like she's blossoming into a diva!
WOW! I'm not surprised that she's beaming, she knows she's knocked it out of the park.
Louis: "It was note perfect. I didn't think you could top One last week but you did, this was even better... You remind me of Tina Turner!" (TrayC''s elated)
Simon: "That was incredible! It wasn't perfect, I think you lost the melody in parts and you need to let go with regards to how you look... You could be a little dark horse here".
Cheryl: "I agree with everything that's been said. Your voice is massive!"
God I love that song...
Were you blown away? I was!
Click the discussion bar below to leave your views...
PAIJE
Oh dear, the judges are concerned about Paije's breathing during performances. He's been advised to excerise while rehearsing to increase his fitness and capacity to move around the stage and sing without problem.

Phew, thankfully the outfit is an improvement on last week and hopefully Joe Public will be talking about his voice tomorrow and not his jacket.
He performs If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys. It's an accomplished vocal and he seems much more relaxed on stage. The chorus is so powerful, he has real presence.
Louis: "I think Alicia Keys is a very hard song to sing for a man. You're a soulful little man, so don't stop believing in yourself as you have the talent".
Cheryl: "The song was better toward the end but it's so much better than last week. I'm looking forward to hearing what you do in weeks to come..."
Dannii: "It did get better toward the end, I love the stamp that you put on everything - thank you".
ONE DIRECTION
SHOCK! As it turns out Harry is suffering from stage fright. The boys VT runs and during rehearsals, he literally stopped dead and couldn't sing - fingers crossed he manages to get his words out - Eek! (Every teenage girl in Britain holds their breath...)

Good call boys! I'm not sure how Kelly Clarkson can be these boys hero (some careful song choice planning by Cowell there me thinks!) - anyway... They perform My Life Would Suck Without You and it's a perfect song to make the smitten teens at home to pick up their phones.
The start was a little quiet for me and there were a few tuning problems but all in all the boys pull it off. The chorus has punch and they look the part.
..Harry is a little hesitant but they keep it together and get through it.
Louis: "Every girl around the country will love you... I think you're really good but Simon, since when is Kelly Clarkson their hero?"
Cheryl: "I can't even get over how cute you are. I just want to go up and hug them... You're so sweet. I wanna turn round and say, wow this is the new big boyband and I think that will come in time".
Simon: "Well that time has come! You are the most exciting new pop band in the country".
Click the discussion bar below to leave your views...
CHER LLOYD
Danni thinks that Cher will either explode or plummet... Louis is more cutting, "Cheryl wants Cher to be cool and contemporary but I think she's taking a risk". I have to agree with Louis, I'm not sure about this song choice, it's more talking than singing and I don't want to hear the rapping every week, it's getting a little samey.

Hmm... I think I hit the nail on the head. Cher performs It's A Hard Knock Life and I'm not sold I'm afraid. It was great to hear her sing during her early auditions but now it's as though Cheryl is concentrating on the rapping and she could push this too far. Please let her sing next week Chezza?!
Louis: "I thought you were taking a risk when I saw it on paper but it worked. It's sooo you and you look like a pop star!"
Dannii: "I thought you were taking a risk and I loved last week's performance, but wasn't sure about this tonight. I do love the risk taking and it's always worked but tonight... it just didn't work for me".
Simon: "I absolutely loved it! You could sing the phonebook as far as I'm concerned".
Cheryl: "You look like a pop star, you sound like a pop star, you have the attitude of a pop star.. you are a pop star!"
Great feedback from the judges, but I have to agree with Dannii - sorry.
Click the discussion bar below to leave your views...
JOHN ADELEYE
Hmmm... Can I be honest? I think John's got a cracking set of pipes but there's something missing. I'm not sure what it is, he's a cracking singer with a great voice but I need more and I can't quite put my finger on it, I want to be gripped - Dare I say he's a little bland?
Not to be unfair, I think it's more that he needs one killer performance to makes people stop and listen. He's almost too relaxed and needs a little umph!

WOW! I have to hand it to him. Still not the 'umph' I'm looking for but that was a fantastic (and emotional) performance. His rendition of Song For You obviously meant a lot to him, he was close to tears and the eye contact with the camera did it for me - he was close to tears, what a connection.
Dannii: "You are one of the most loved contestants this series. There are some voices that you can cut off the visuals and it rocks... and you're one of them".
Simon: "I've got to hand this over to Louis and say that that was fantastic. I can see in your eyes that that meant a lot to you and you gave it 100%".
Louis: "I know how much that meant to you.. Now we just want people to vote for John!"
John is overjoyed with the judges comments, "I have to thank Louis for that song choice.. It means so much to me and the audience were fantastic, I hope the people at home felt it too".
DIVA FEVER
I feel like I've walked into the Copacabana! Either that or Wham's Club Tropicana video...

Yes, yes the boys are great fun but there's barely any singing at all in this song. Streisand's Duck Sauce is a giggle and the audience are smiling, but should they stay over other acts who are taking this far more seriously?
I like the fun factor as much as the next fanatic but not when the act doesn't even sing...
Louis: "I like you an awful lot, you make everybody smile - I liked the end bit".
Dannii: "Like I said last week, that song is on my Christmas party playlist. Normally I'm getting serious about the singing and all that right now, but I enjoy what you do".
Simon: "This week you have to try and make a decision about what song you could sing as recording artists and that is just the sort of song you could record. I predict that that will be number one at the weekend".
REBECCA FERGUSON
All I can say is this could be a showstopper!
We all know how well Rebecca can blow and good lord, she's singing Nina Simone's Feeling Good.
Brian Freidman has been working with her on her shyness because Cheryl knows that for a song like this, you need the seX factor...

Boooo... I'm disappointed already, I was hoping for the whole Jessica Rabbit routine but she's more goth than goddess in that black lippy!
Thankfully her vocal does the talking and it's encouraging to see more eye contact, she even throws in a few cheeky hand gestures which make me smile... I know, it sounds silly to say but it's so unlike her.
Great to see her confidence growing, I love Rebecca and want her to do well.
Louis: "What a transformation in one week. You are what we are looking for, you have the recording voice. You can sing, you're elegant, you're so sophisticated and you're from Liverpool! You have everything!"
Dannii: I thought that that could have been a risk, that song can be so overdone.. but you made it cool. I'm imagining that being the next Bond track, in the real world".
Simon: "I absolutely love you. You're timing is perfect, you're so current, I think it's going to be a good week for Liverpool (they've got new owners) - that was genius!"
Cheryl: "I would buy your album tomorrow!"

Will Storm and Harry be able to perform?
There's bad news from the X Factor finalists house today, many of them have fallen victim to a flu-like virus which has meant two of them missed rehearsals completely!
Storm Lee and Harry from One Direction are currently seeking medical advice as their symptoms are severe, and producers are unsure whether either of them will be able to perform on tomorrow's live show.

The virus has spread throughout the house and many of the finalists have been struck by it's symptoms.
Rebecca Ferguson has a sore throat, others have stomach problems and nausea and Matt Cardle and Paije's voices are suffering too.
Rebecca told ITV: “We’re all dropping like flies! Storm and Harry are seeking medical advice so we’re all really worried about them.”
With Harry missing, One Direction are more than concerned: “It’s tough because Harry is a big voice and a big character within our group, but we all auditioned for this competition as solo artists, so if Harry doesn’t make it to the performance tomorrow night, we’ll just have to step-up and carry on without him – you have to play the cards your dealt.”
So what do you think?
Will we have a show to watch tomorrow?
...And will Storm and Harry recover in time or worse still, will more finalists be knocked out before the judges can do it for them?

Walsh is not happy with X Factor's Pop Princess...
Saturday night's X Factor revealed as much about the judges as it did about the acts and the truth is, they're feeling the pressure.

After her lacklustre performance, Louis Walsh slated Katie Waissel and Cheryl Cole was far from impressed. As she jumped to her acts defense, Louis slammed her too!
"It's my opinion, I'm entitled to have one you know - It's not all about you, Cheryl!"
The rift is obviously growing between them both as Louis has had more to say this week and it ain't pretty...
He told X Magazine: "She's the nation's sweetheart and I'm not. I'm 30 years in this business, I've sold 100 million records, I know what I'm talking about, I have an opinion, and I'm entitled to speak my mind, you know?"
"I don't care [if I upset her]! I'm not here to keep her happy. It's not my job...
"I'm fed up listening to her! It's not her show."
"It's my opinion. Simon hired me for my opinion. I'm very honest.
"What you see is what you get. Be it right or wrong, I don't care. I'm not going to change for Cheryl."
Which judge do you prefer?
Is Louis right, is it all about Cheryl these days?
I'm beginning to think it is...
(I rather like her though LOL!)

SHOW STARTS:
Ah... it's like putting on a comfy old pair of slippers isn't it? We're right back into the old routine, time for the American Idolesque 'group song'.
The acts perform Rhythm Of The Night and they even throw in some skipping and waving for good measure - Cheesefest yes, but it wouldn't be X Factor without it would it?

As the act montage runs, it's easy to guage who hit the right notes. Mary and TreyC gave me goosebumps... from a 20 second clip, that's got to be good right?
WOW! Usher gives a masterclass on how it's done. The performance is slick, live and there's more choreography than you can shake your booty at - seriously! Well come on, it is Usher. If he didn't dance it just wouldn't be right - oh, nearly forgot.. Phwoar!

On a professional note, Dermot asks Usher what he would look for in a winner (he's qualified, he did sign Justin Bieber after all).
"A star is born... There's a lot of talent on the stage and you've got to have confidence and believe in your performance."
He's already had the crowd in uproar with his performance, but they're off again when Dermot asks him to throw his towel to the girls. Aaaaaaaagh! Check Ebay tomorrow, you'll probably find it LOL!
Okay, can someone explain to me why Usher sings live and lasy year's X Factor winner Joe McElderry doesn't?

He performed his new single Ambition but I wasn't sold to be honest, it was all a bit OTT and he looked like Danny from Grease. Not really the best idea to dress the guy they pigeonholed as 'musical theatre' like he's stepped out of the stage door.
Joe's had a ball though, "I met all the acts this afternoon and it's like I've come home".
THE RESULT:
The acts through to next week's show (in no particular order) are...
TreyC
John
Aiden
Diva Fever (shocked!)
Cher (nice one..)
Storm... (he's lucky)
Belle Amie
Matt (yes!)
Wagner (what?)
Rebecca...
Mary (knew it)
That's all of Louis' acts through.
One Direction...
Katie, Nicolo, Paije and FYD remain... only one definite space left.
It's Paije!
FYD, Katie and Nicolo are the bottom three. One act has received the least votes and must leave immediately. The other two must battle it out for the judges.
Leaving tonight is Nicolo!
I'm so shocked, he can really sing and it's heartbreaking that he's left when 'comedy' acts have stayed.

Dannii says: "It's really hard to stand out in 16 acts. I thought that he sang fantastically."
It's time for the final face-off...
Who will the judges choose between FYD and Katie?
Click the discussion bar below to leave your views throughout the show...

FYD go first, I love this song! They perform their own rendition of Please Don't Stop The Music and it's surprisingly good considering it's suited to a female vocal. The boys even have three lots of choreography down - it's polished and pretty damn slick!

Katie sings Don't Let Me Down. Unlike FYD's choice, I'm not a fan of this song - it's too repetitive. How many times can a girl say 'don't let me down' without sounding like the disk is scratched? Vocally she hold it well and it's in tune, but I was expecting something individual and quirky and it was pretty bland. The frock did nothing for me either...
THE JUDGES DECISION:
Simon is shocked that Katie is in the bottom two, but he backs his own act and votes for Katie.
Cheryl does the same, she's sending home FYD.
Danni chooses FYD and I think that we're heading for deadlock... as Louis thinks Katie's 'all style and no substance'.
Louis says, "my heart says one thing and my head says another. I'm going to go with the act that can grow on this show.."
OH MY GOD!
Regardless of what he said he's gone for FYD! He could have pushed it to deadlock and let the public decide.

What the?
FYD are out!
He enjoyed FYD's performance yesterday and slated Katie, what is going on here? FYD had the better face-off performance and THAT is what the judges decision is supposed to be based on.. I'm lost now, this is going to be a mad 12 weeks, talent lost already.

(Continued from below...)
PAIJE RICHARDSON
Paije sings Killing Me Softly and the song is perfect for his voice. It's smooth, he's genuine and the crowd love it. The only things I don't like are the outfit and the moves.
He looks like he's been dragged naked through De La Soul's wardrobe and then pushed on stage in whatever stuck! It's 2010!

I'd have liked to hear him 'just sing the song'. It's an old cliche I know but as soon as he started bounding about, the vocal was affected.
The judges agree that his rendition was nothing short of fabulous but Simon agrees with me about the outfit. Cowell commends Dannii for giving him a second chance and Cheryl is the first to say he 'owned it'. "You have earned your wildcard place. You've just proved that you should be here".

KATIE WAISELL
Simon is the first to say that Katie has something to prove and Cheryl agrees that after all the drama, she need a performance 'to redeem herself'.
GOOD LORD! YOU ARE NOT LADY GAGA!

I'm sorry but she's in a ridiculous silver outfit, pink tights and a helmet with spikes and flowers. She's playing a fake piano like Elton John and I'm getting flashbacks of Sir Elt' playing Rocketman!
Katie performs We Are the Champions and the lyrics are perfect for her current situation... "I've made mistakes.." Yes just a few.
Having listened to her sing, I have to give her some credit. She may be all about the image but I really enjoyed that.
Louis is less forgiving. "When I saw your first audition I thought it was more about style than substance and that didn't change my mind. You're a bit of Madonna and a bit of Gwen Stefani.."
Dannii thought the vocal was "fierce!' but hates the look. "I liked your outfits in the auditions, the quirky ones.. but this.. I don't get this look at all".
Cheryl points out that it's about the vocal and there are a lot 'individual artists' out there at moment. "You've taught me a lot about embracing things that are different Katie".
Surprising Simon gives Katie a boost. "I agree with Cheryl, I actually like what you're wearing. I like the fact that you're different, you remind me of Cyndi Lauper. Yes, you are a dramam queen but I've worked with a fair few!"
MARY BYRNE
One word, WOW!

Mary snaffles the performance of the night (so far). She sings This is a Man's World and boy does she hold court. A lesson on how it's done, the crowd are mesmerised.
She's selling every word. The vocal is on point and heartfelt.
Mary is brought to tears by the audience reaction - they applaud for what feels like an age and she recieves a standing ovation.
Dannii: "I can honestly say that that is one of 'the best' vocal performance on this show. They talk about a new generation in pop, that was it!"
Not sure if I'd go that far Dan..
Cheryl: "What can I say, you can just feel the energy in this room. I felt every word and it's like you've waited your whole life to sing that on that stage".
Simon: "Regardless of your age and your taste in music, people love a tryer - that was an amazing performance".
Louis: "The irish lass from Tesco has become a diva!"
NICOLO FESTA
Hmmm... I didn't get why Nicolo went through in the first place and this confirms that. He performs Just Dance and I have to say, it's all too much. The prancing about, the wide rimmed red shades.. I'm not knocking his voice, that's great but this is about the whole package.

What can I say, he just doesn't float my boat. You?

Cheryl: "I didn't love it, I'm sorry. The glasses put me off. You need that connection and it comes from the eyes - I would have liked to have seen you".
Simon: "I have to disagree, I think I've gone a bit funny this year as I rather liked that. You obviously love Lady Ga Ga, it was different".
Dannii said she didn't 'get him' at first either but he's one to watch. That's if he stays in...

ONE DIRECTION
The boys perform Viva La Vida by Coldplay. I'm surprised as I have to say I liked it.

Oops, the lines are fluffed a little but Liam steps in to sing and saves the day.
It wasn't the best vocal in the world but these boys give you the feeling that they're the best of friends already. They're bouncing off each other and obviously loving the whole experience, it's infectious.
Louis: "I think potentially you could be the next big boy band but you have a lot of work to do".
Cheryl and Danni agree that they look like they're made to be together. "You just need some more time to work together as a group".
Louis is happy with the vocal but questions the styling, "Do they have a stylist Simon or is it just you?" Can someone tell me what Louis knows about what thekids are wearing these days?"
Simon: "There was a moment when the words went and Liam stepped in. That is exactly what bands do... As far as style goes Louis, I'm not doing anything to these boys. They are going to do it their way".
WAGNER
Please let's stop this now... Wagner gives it his all bless him, but it's comical in comparison to his counterparts. I quite liked the operatic stuff but let's be honest, Wagner should not 'do pop' - He's no Ricky Martin!
He performs a medley of She Bangs by Ricky Martin and Love Shack by the B52's.

What's with the hoop earings and the smoking jacket?
Answers on a postcard...
Dannii scratches her head. "Err.. it was entertaining, it was fun but I'm trying to keep my head on the next recording star". In other words it a no.
Cheryl smirks, "I like you Wagner, you're very earthy".
Simon nods, "That was without question the most bonkers performance, but you know what... embrace the madness!"
Simon cracks me up.
Louis seems to think that when everyone talks about the X Factor tomorrow they'll be talking about Wagner. No Louis, they'll be talking about Mary!

AIDEN GRIMSHAW
I'm blown away by Aiden. He performs Mad World and I've never seen him like this.

He acts the song brilliantly and the vocal is nothing short of perfect. He's gone from happy-go-lucky to intense and emotional... the judges can't take their eyes off him and neither can I.
Louis: "I think you are the next big male pop star!"
Cheryl looks shocked, "I am taken aback by that, I've never sen you perform before. That was just brilliant, pop star quality already".
Simon is amazed. "That is the second time that song has blown me away. It happened once in America and now it's happened here".
TREYC COHEN
They're on form tonight people. TreyC knows she's got to give it her all after Aiden's showstopping performance and she doesn't disappoint.

She gives her rendition of One by U2 and it's truly sensational.
It's one of my favourite songs of all time and I love her version. She's confident, she sells it and she looks amazing - there's a pinch of Tina Turner there don't you think?

Louis: "You deserve to be on that stage, you're a fighter. Come on, you tried before and you came back, that is what you have to do in the music industry".
Dannii: "To start like that, you can only go one way - up there!"
Simon: "I can't believe we overlooked you at Bootcamp. You have it. Your whole body language says you're vunerable, you don't have much confidence at all... and I don't like what you're wearing (the crowd boo). But that doesn't matter at all, that was by far 'THE' best vocal performance of the series".
Cheryl can't believe her luck, "that was incredible - really. I am so happy to have you here representing my category, thank you so much".
So that's your lot.
Your sixteen act have performed and it's time to decide...
Who stays and who goes?

SHOW STARTS:
I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see these guys get out there and perform. The first live show is usually packed with punch to get the ball rolling and I've got my fingers crossed for fantastic production, pyro and pizazz.
The judges have chosen a cracking (though controversial) bunch and i know they're gonna come out fighting and give it their all.

Oooh, the judges are coming out fighting. Simon thinks he's got the quality and the winning act (don't they all? Well apart from Louis of course LOL!)
We're live! Dermot appears just to make me smile and the judges are introduced...
THE TWIST!
Dermot reveals that each judge has been given a wildcard act. One act to whom they can offer a second chance...
They are:
Louis: Wagner (Good Lord!)
Danni: Paije
Simon: Diva Fever (That's a shock -Reason? Princes?)
Cheryl: TreyC Cohen
So 12 have become 16!
You have a whopping 16 acts to enjoy tonight...
If you'd like to be a superfan for one of the wildcards, get straight over to http://twitter.com/MSNRealityTV and see if you can snaffle one before they're taken.
You get to rally support for your chosen act and you could become MSN's X Factor Superfan for 2010 if you back the winning act. Get over there and send Alice a quick message, only one act per superfan and they're flying out!
I'll be publishing the full list of superfans as soon as every act is snagged... Who will come out on top? Will it be you and your act?
THE PERFORMANCES:
FYD
Simon knows these boys have got the talent, but Dannii wonders if they'll stand up to the challenge. "They have to stand out!"

The boys perform I Wanna be a Billionaire and it's a confident rendition (if not a little wobbly in places). I'm more concerned about the sound, I think the levels are wrong as I couldn't hear the start. These guys have great voices and they'll be gutted when they hear it back.
Phew, the sound men must have been running around like headless chickens backstage - it's fixed by the chorus.
Wow! Check out the killer choreography! Go on lads, it's like they've done this for years.
Louis: "I love the song choice, I love the choreography.. The only problem is I think you're better dancers than singers. It was a great opener, well done".
Dannii: "I thought that was great, just be careful that you don't move too much so it affects the singing".
Cheryl: "For me personally, I think you need to move some more. You can sing while you're moving and it was great".
Simon mocks Louis, "This is why I put you through, you can do it all. Louis, this is a band that can sing and dance..."

MATT CARDLE
Go on Matt! I was concerned when I heard Love Takes Over was his song choice, but I needn't have worried - It's perfect for his voice. Surprising that he can pull off a dance track, more versatile that the judges first thought eh?

He's a little nervous to start but he delivers the moment he hits the chorus - knocks it out of the park! It's great to see that regardless of the wash and brush up, he hasn't dropped his trademark hat.
The track is tailor-made and you can feel how effortless it is for him to hit those high notes. He has so much power too.
Louis: "Tonight you proved that you're the real deal. You are a music man and I loved what you did with that song, I love everything about you!"
Cheryl smiles, she says that she always imagines Matt singing along as he paints some skirting boards, "now you are on one of the biggest platforms!"
Simon: "That wiped the floor with your first audition and I thought that was sensational. You could release that as a single and you would have a monster hit on your hands".

JOHN ADELEYE
Oooh, first ballad of the night - not happy that Louis has squeezed him into a purple satin jacket. Can you say Little Richard? Seriously... tell me you can't see it?

He performs One Sweet Day and although it's smooth, it's a little sickly sweet for me. I have to agree with Dannii, it doesn't make him current.
Cheryl: "That is one of my favourite songs ever and you sang it beautifully. The only thing I'll say is, I don't feel like you've put your stamp on this competition yet".
Simon is not impressed...
He's unhappy that this song was a number one in New Zealand, "that's stretching it a bit Louis". Louis snipes that it is one of the most popular songs in the world, but Simon's not having it. "John, you weren't able to do much with the song".
Louis: "John has a lot more to give in this competition, I want people to vote for John!"
It's never a good sign when the judges spend more time arguing than talking about you, least of all when you mentor begs for votes within minutes!

REBECCA FERGUSON
Rebecca performs Womack and Womack's Teardrops and to be honest, I wish she hadn't. I'm happy it's uptempo, but there are a few tuning issues.

The 'power' moments are amazing but she does have a good old wail here and there - it's a little screechy!
It doesn't last (the screeching not the song) and I'm pleased that the crowd are behind her. I'd say that final verse and chorus have taken her through to next week.
Louis says she reminds him of Sade and Nora Jones and Dannii agrees that her voice is unbelievable - "You're a style queen too!"
Simon is gushing, "I think we've pigeon-holed you as 'sad' and you're not. You've got a couple of kids, brilliant and you're a happy fun girl!" I get the feeling that Simon was pleased to hear her sing something upbeat. She does look stunning!
He adds, "I don't think the song did what it could but you have amazing potential".
Cheryl can't praise her enough. She loves the voice, the look, the song and Rebecca's presentation - of course she does, she's her mentor LOL!
"The thing I love about you is that you're real!"

STORM LEE:
Jesus Louis! Bon Jovi... U2... They've all had massive number one's... but no, what do you choose for Storm? We Built This City On Rock and Roll!
What the hell has he got on his face? He's made up to the eye balls - Literally! Not only does he have a mask of rainbow make-up but a studded leather jacket and 'that' red hair. It's all wrong. Where is the man we fell for? The grafter, the rock star longing for the chance?

His vocal is great but it's smothered by everything else!
Dannii: "You sang that song really well and the audience loved it".
Cheryl: "The image for me is abit much, don't push it. For me, you are about never giving up hope and following your dreams".
Simon: "Louis has turned you into Batman! ...and the image is very seventies glam rock. Then again you may need that, as without it you're a failed rock star". Ouch!
He adds, "but to be fair you sang it really well..."
Louis tries to defend the song and the look and points out just how much Storm has worked for this and wants it.
I think Storm needs to remember who he was when he auditioned as Louis turning him into a clown. He's a genuine hardworking singer - full stop. I agree with Cheryl, he doesn't need all this! Think Bono not Bozo!

BELLE AMIE
The girls perform Airplanes and I'm not too sure how I feel about this one. It's not that they don't sing it well, I'm just a little on edge... it's like they're teetering and could fluff it at anytime - Am I expecting them to fail? Hmmm...
One thing I do know is the styling is awful. I was expecting some attitude and for the girls to look fierce but once again they're frumpy rather than fabulous.
Fancy a trip to Tescos!

Fortunately they don't and the crowd are behind them all the way.
Phew, thank God it wasn't just me. Cheryl tried to explain that they made her feel on edge. "But that will go with time, it just takes time".
Simon points out that that is why the girls are here, "they need time. I thought you sang that really well and I hope the people at home will give you a shot. I want to see you here next week". The judges agree that they would like to see how the girls 'grow'.

AAAAAGH! TIME FOR CHER!
Ooooh, Cheryl's bigging her up no end. "The first time I saw her, I knew she was a star!"
Oh dear... I hate to say this but I don't like it.

She sings Just Be Good To Me.
The production is the biggest so far with a frame that both Cher and the dancers can hang from... Don't get me wrong the vocal is pure and in tune but it's just not her. I was expecting something more current with regards to song choice, I wanted to see that 'edge' that Turn My Swag On had. She looked a little nervous and distracted, her swag's gone...
What were the judges listening to? They're gushing.
Simon can't stop. "I think that any doubt that anyone had about 'this one' chosing you have just been blown out of the water. You should be unpredictable, that's what pop music is all about".
"I think that you are a little star and you are what this show is all about. Some people will love you and some won't but I love you and I shouldn't say that because I'm 51 years old. But I think you are part of a new generation".
Cher punches the air with joy and Cheryl is on her feet applauding Cowell.
Cheryl smiles, "I think that you are a star, you're current, you're cool and you have the talent".
Oh well, I suppose if I concentrate on the vocal I can't fault it. I must have missed something tonight???

DIVA FEVER
Three words, Diva Fever and... NO!
We have a super-camp, multi-coloured disco inferno on our hands. Someone drank too much Sunny D, ate too many skittles and then threw up all over them, their dancers and the stage.

It's great fun and the crowd are bopping away, but I can see Cheryl wincing at the vocals in places. If they get through it will be on entertainment not vocal ability.
Cheryl says, "it reminded me of those people who get you out of bed to exercise - Mr Motivator!" No comments about the vocals then Chezza... Don't blame you.
Dannii: If I was at a Christmas Party and the disk was playing, that would be track one.. I can't wait to hear what track 2 is.
Simon: "I think that may cause a few raised eyebrows as to why I picked you as my wildcard, but let me explain... I think that music has become a bit boring over the past few years. I've always thought that music should be fun and that's what's missing.."
No, no, no... These guys could be out first.
