X Factor: MK1 go from three to two as judges slam third member.

On tonight's X Factor, MK1 wowed the judges with their rap. Well, two of them did... one member of the trio distracted the judges and drove them crazy. The band were told they would not go through if he stayed.

Will (27), Charlie (19) and Simeon (24) took to the stage and hoped to wow the judges with their licks.

Simeon said: "We all bring something different to MK1, I bring the fresh raps, Charlie tremendous vocals, Will on the production, flawless."

 

Charlie added: "Music is basically like the foundation of our friendship, making music with these guys is like one of my favourite things to do of all time. It’s one of the best feelings."

 

The threesome perform Read All About It/Written in the Stars by Professor Green & Emilie Sande. Unfortunately Charlie's vocals are obscured by Will shouting and Simeon's rap was overshadowed as the crowd laughed at Will's dancing. The judges had to question why he was there.

 

Tulisa: Do you want the good news or the bad news first? The good news is, that’s rap. The bad news is, you’re either going to have to become a duo, or get another member. [To Will] - I need to understand what your involvement is in the band.

 

Will: I’m the writer and the producer. I sing as well.

 

Tulisa: I’m trying to listen to Charlie sing and I just keep hearing you coming in every couple of seconds just wailing over and I can’t hear her beautiful voice. It was agitating me, I wanted to enjoy the song and it was just stopping me from doing that.

 

Louis: Charlie's the star, I was watching you all the time I love your energy I love your presence.

 

Gary: Will you look like the band's accountant whose come on stage for a song. It just doesn’t work, it really doesn’t. I think you should really take this advice, think about how you should move forward from here but you should not be on stage with the band, it’s distracting.

 

Charlie and Simeon made it clear that the wanted to keep Will. "It’s upsetting to be honest, we’ve been best friends for ages and we see ourselves as equal team members and you never leave a man behind."

 

The judges gave them the opportunity to discuss their options, it would be a no if Will stayed. 

 

Will agrees to step down after stating "I want 33%". The judges commend him for being the better man (I don't think they heard the 33% part).

It was a close call and they've managed to make it through but will they bomb out at bootcamp? We'll have to wait and see.

Tonight's show also saw vocalist Charlotte Rose and beatboxing sensation Duke go through. Charlotte was overjoyed by the audience reception as the judges branded her 'flawless'. Gary Barlow was excited by Duke. The trio took the art of beat box to a whole new level as they performed Seal's Kiss From a Rose it became obvious that they'll be one to watch - individual, new and fresh.
