X Factor: Lucy Spraggan pulls out of rehearsals after grandmother's death

The 21-year-old headed home to her family on Monday after being told the devastating news. Lucy told her followers on Twitter: 'I'm really sorry to say I won't be doing a twitcam today, I had some really sad news this morning. Thank you to everyone for the support,'
Marjorie Spraggan, passed away on Sunday night shortly after watching her granddaughter make it through to Saturday's live show. X Factor producers have promised Lucy all the time that she needs but Spraggan's been quick to return to work and hopes to stay positive for her gran.
Earlier she tweeted: 'Thank you for all the kind messages, going to keep upbeat and keep smiling this weekend.'
Lucy also paid tribute to her grandmother in The Sun: 'She was a great woman – my nanny and grandad were together for more than fifty years so I just really want to be around to support him and my family at this time. My granddad is an amazingly strong and kind man and they loved each other very much. She’s at peace now and that’s comforting to know.'
'She was so proud to see me singing and I’m glad that I made her smile.'
Hopefully a few missed rehearsals won't make a difference. Lucy's got some pluck and from the sounds of things this will spur her on rather than scupper her chances. We're sure you'll make your grandmother proud this Saturday too - Go on Lucy!
