The X Factor judges were left speechless tonight following Ella Henderson's sensational performance and Rylan Clark's 'spectacular'. Yes we said Rylan Clark, we didn't believe it either!

16 year old Ella performed her own rendition of Minnie Riperton’s Lovin' you, an impossible task some would say but Henderson took it all in her stride. Soulful and heartfelt, her vocal was nothing short of amazing. As she hit the song’s iconic high notes, she raised the bar above her competition and stamped her name clearly on the winners envelope.

It had to be good, even Adele herself felt compelled to tweet:
'Ella Henderson on X Factor is absolutely incredible! I LOVE her!! Good luck xx,'

Gary Barlow said: “What a risk you took tonight. Everybody was waiting for those high notes and it paid off. You completely nailed it. What a great week for you.”

Rylan Clark left the judges reeling for a whole different set of reasons. His mash up of Groove is in the Heart, Gangnam Style and Pump up the Jam was nothing short of genius. All credit to mentor Nicole Scherzinger and choreographer Brian Friedman, it was camp-tastic!

In a cheeky nod to a disproving Gary Barlow, Rylan opened his performance with the first line of Take That's hit Back for Good before heading to the catwalk for his mash-up. Barlow laughed along but he still wasn't impressed.

Backed by dancers dressed as pandas and iconic German designer Karl Lagerfeld, Rylan strutted his stuff, head to toe in glitter. The routine highlighted his showmanship, dance ability and flair whilst giving everyone a giggle.

Louis Walsh gushed: “That’s entertainment with a capital E. I loved the mash-up. I loved all the Karl Lagerfelds. I loved it. Essex, vote for your man tonight!”

Gary disagreed: “Rylan if this was a competition for how many songs you could kill in two minutes, then you would win hands down. The best bit was my song. After that it became this musical dirge to cover for the fact you cannot sing.”

Nicole Scherzinger couldn't believe what she was hearing: “There’s dancing fashion pandas – who doesn’t love that! You’re not afraid to take a risk unlike others… Rylan you are so playful and you do not take yourself too seriously and play it safe like other acts.”

Is Rylan Clark becoming the nation's guilty pleasure?

Who's out? District 3 have to be the hot favourite to leave tomorrow. The trio nailed their harmonies but between bad timing and bum notes, their solo performances flopped.

The boys were worried all week about performing Louis Walsh's song choice I Swear by All 4 One but gave it their best.

(C) RexGary Barlow said it all: "I think you’ve had a really bad night tonight, when you watch this back you’ll be disappointed. The song was in the wrong key. That very last note was really flat as well and the song choice was very dated. In the battle of the boybands Union J have taken it tonight." Oh dear...
