Letitia Dean's return to EastEnders as long-time fave Sharon Rickman (more famously, Sharon Watts) has fans of the soap very excited.

When we see Sharon on screen - during the week of August 13 - she's in her wedding dress and in "desperate need of Phil's help".

According to The Sun, the 31-year-old US reality TV star and socialite is said to be hoping for a role in one of the soaps.

On a recent visit to the UK, Kim - who features in Keeping Up With The Kardashians alongside other members of her family - apparently watched Corrie and EastEnders.

The paper quotes a source as saying: "Kim was really impressed with British TV - especially Coronation Street and EastEnders. She’d love a cameo just so she could sneak around the set."

Antiques dealer Anthony Moon is to leave EastEnders. The character, played by actor Matt Lapinskas, will head out of Albert Square after less than a year.

Confirming his exit, Matt said: "I'm having a fantastic time working on EastEnders and playing the role of Anthony Moon. Working with David Essex, Tony Discipline and the EastEnders cast has been an absolute pleasure."

He added: "Although I will really miss EastEnders and everyone involved, I am very excited about future projects and what is next for me as an actor."

Hot on the heels of Patsy Palmer, it's now been reported that June Brown, who plays Dot Branning, will be taking time off EastEnders to write her autobiography.

A quote in the mirror from an insider says:

Enders' talking point: EastEnders is facing criticism that it's too dreary and depressing again. This is due to the way Patsy Palmer, who plays Bianca, was written out. Do you agree? Do you think the BBC soap should be more uplifting?

The night saw some predictable winners in the viewer voted categories (such as EastEnders winning Best Soap) and some weird results in the panel voted section; how can Coronation Street's Natalie Gumede (who plays Kirsty Soames) win over Jamie Foreman in EastEnders? That makes no sense in my opinion.
