What's going on in the soaps this week? Let's find out (spoilers ahead).

EastEnders w/e Friday 14 May

Before this week's dramatic Syed events, a word about the soap revolving door - it's set to turn again with the news that two more EastEnders stars are on their way out.

Charlie Jones (Ben Mitchell) and Madeline Duggan (Lauren Branning) are now surplus to requirements according to the Daily Star Sunday. An EastEnders insider told the newspaper: "Ben's exit will be one of the biggest storylines of the summer. It's going to very dramatic and will have repercussions for months to come. Maddy has already filmed her exit. She was pretty emotional as she's very close to Jo, who plays her mum on the show." I wish them all the luck in the world.

So this week, Billy legs it following the fire at R&R.Tamwar's getting more annoyed at Zainab's bossiness. Ben steals a bottle of whiskey from The Vic in a bid to prove himself to Jordan and Abi. Meanwhile, Ronnie turns up at the hospital to find that Jack's not there. Phil's concerned when Ben reveals he's had a fight with Jordan. Ian confides in Lucy and Ben threatens Louise again if she reveals the truth to Phil. Zainab sets fire to Syed's belongings.

Hollyoaks w/e Friday 14 May

Dominique Jackson has revealed that she never wanted to be a 'Hollyoaks babe'. The 18-year-old has played Calvin's sister Lauren Valentine for three years; she's due to leave in June. Dominique has been talking about Lauren: "She came in the show to be a stroppy, misunderstood teenager and that's what she does and that's all I ever wanted her to be - I never had ideas to blossom her into a Hollyoaks babe." Yet again, that door is turning...

So this week on Hollyoaks, Cheryl's left gobsmacked at the atmosphere between Sasha and Lauren. Duncan feels like an outsider in Ricky's life now Kris is helping out at home. Coronation Street w/e Friday 14 May

Coronation Street's legendary barmaid Betty Driver is calling time on the soap after 41 years. The queen of the hotpot will bow out of Corrie after the soap's 50th anniversary celebrations in December. The 89-year-old is the oldest member of the Weatherfield cast; she was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at Saturday night's British Soap Awards. It's well-deserved! And doesn't she look really good for her age? Better than all those Botox-filled celebs.

More about Corrie's oldies as attention turns to Blanche's funeral (we still miss you Maggie Jones!); Deirdre hopes that she's up to reciting her eulogy. The funeral brings back friends and family, both old and new.

Tracy Barlow prepares for the day ahead - will Blanche’s funeral go without a hitch? It's a soap rule that weddings rarely do after all. Eddie and Anna try to convince the social worker to let them adopt. Elsewhere, Sophie and Sian conceal their emerging romance… will their relationship be discovered?

Eddie tries to woo the social worker with his cheesecakes. Graeme continues trying to get Tina out of her shell. Steve and Becky find out more about each other than they’re comfortable with. Meanwhile,Tracy plots a cunning plan to get out of prison. Trevor’s hidden cash stash gets Janice suspicious. Norris is surprised to get an invite to Blanche’s will reading. Gail’s new cellmate doesn’t have her best interests at heart. The Barlows are stunned when they hear who Blanche has left all her money to.

Emmerdale w/e Friday 14 May

Bad Girls star Victoria Pritchard is joining Emmerdale as temptress Tania Page. She will immediately set her sights on younger man David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden). It's an attempt to spice up the action even more. A soap source said: "Tania comes in with the intention to seduce David Metcalfe, only all isn't quite as it seems and someone else could be behind the scheming..." OK - not sure what that means. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

So this week, Adam finds a way to help Aaron, but will Aaron accept his help? John and Cain lock horns over Andy’s Land Rover. Nicola worries that she’s the talk of the village. Moira notices that Eve has her eye on John. Paddy worries about Aaron facing prison. Nicola’s unsettled by a visit from Social Services.

John's furious when he discovers Cain's guilty of sabotage. Chas and Paddy beg Aaron to tell the truth in court. Jalous of Charlie, Doug decides to take Diane out. John can’t resist Eve’s flirting (naughty man!). Doug's gutted to see Diane’s head turned by Charlie again. Natasha's unimpressed by Declan’s methods. Doug confesses his feelings to Diane. Aaron decides he has to face up to things. John confides in Eve about Holly and Doug's crushed by Diane's revelation. Meanwhile, Aaron waits to hear his fate in court. Will he face prison?
