New BBC trailer for dark drama Ripper Street, starring Matthew Macfadyen

News and gossip from the world of TV

The fascination with Jack the Ripper will never end. BBC drama Ripper Street, scheduled to air this autumn, is set in April 1889, six months since the last Jack the Ripper killing.

It stars Jerome Flynn, Matthew Macfadyen and Adam Rothenberg as law enforcers in 19th century London, Whitechapel to be precise.

This is not another 'Hunt the Ripper' story, but it certainly trades on the notoriety of the Ripper's East End. See the trailer below to get a flavour of what's to come.

This Ripper Street trailer will air tonight during the BBC's Olympics coverage. Enjoy!
