Celebrity Big Brother star Lucien Laviscount to release a record

News and gossip from the world of TV

Having won the hearts of teens up and down the country in projects as varied as the BBC's Waterloo Road, ITV's Coronation Street and, er, Celebrity Big Brother, TV heartthrob Lucien Laviscount is set to launch his music career this April with debut single, Dance with You.

The RnB dance track features US hip-hop artist Mann. The American, who celebrated chart success with two US number ones featuring 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg, met Lucien at last year’s MOBOs.

Flying into London especially for the filming, Mann is not the only familiar face to appear in the single’s video; Lucien also drafted in friends from his television days - Matt D’Angelo and Ashley Walters cameo in the video.

Lucien is the first artist to be signed to SK Records (founded by Blue's Simon Webbe).

Here's a sneak peek of the Dance With You video

Talking about his first single, Lucien said: “This is an amazing new adventure for me, which has been a long time coming.  I'm grateful to have a good solid team around me and I'm now looking forward to working hard and making good music with great vibes, which people can relate to and party to!”

A number of TV stars have also turned their hand to a pop career; whether Lucien turns out to be more like Kylie Minogue and less like Sid Owen (Ricky in EastEnders) remains to be seen.
