Sky Atlantic to air HBO's much talked-about drama, Girls (clip)
News and gossip from the world of TV
Another quality HBO drama heads to Sky Atlantic later this year. Created by, and starring, filmmaker Lena Dunham (Tiny Furniture), and co-executive produced by Judd Apatow (Bridesmaids, Knocked Up), Girls will be the next big thing to watch.
The show has attracted notable critical acclaim across the pond; US critic Jace Lacob of The Daily Beast hails it as: "the best new tv show of 2012".
The Hollywood Reporter called it a: "brilliant gem" and New York Magazine declared it "remarkably poignant".
The series takes a biting look at the lives of a group of New York girls – Hannah (creator Lena Dunham), Marnie, Jessa and Shoshanna.
They're in their early 20s and still not sure what they want – from boys, from each other, from themselves - as HBO's inside look below illustrates.
While it's tempting to view - and possibly dismiss - Girls as another Sex and the City, that would be horrendously myopic. Yes, both shows have four women, New York City and HBO in common, but that's about it as you'll see later this year.
Girls will air this September exclusively on Sky Atlantic HD.
