Downton Abbey: Two new promo clips

Who's excited about the next series?

By Felicity Thistlethwaite 21/08/2012 10:02

Oooh! it’s the exciting news every Downton Abbey fan has been waiting for: two 20 second promo clips from the next series have been released.

Hold onto your hats, ladies and gentlemen, because we’ve got a feeling the ‘battle of the matriarchs’ is going to be huge. With Dame Maggie Smith’s acerbic one-liners and Shirley McLaine’s sharp retorts, the pair are set to battle throughout the next series.

Hands up who can’t wait to get hooked onto the Downton drip again?

I have enjoyed Downton Abbey so much, what a shame that they had to spoil it by bringing in someone like Shirley Maclaine, couldn't they have found somebody decent for the job.  Having been aware of the sort of person she is over many years I think it is an insult to the British public to put her opposite Maggie Smith.  OK so you want to sell the series to America, but surely there are better quality actresses to pick from, hundreds in fact.
