Anthea Turner is the next celebrity to leave Dancing On Ice 2013. She failed to impress the judges in the skate-off after Keith Chegwin gave a skillful and somewhat solo performance.

(C) Rex
Week after week the judges have asked to see Anthea skate alone, but for some reason Turner continued to be carried.

This week's School Disco theme could have given Anthea the opportunity to dance solo but after choosing the song Puppy Love, it wasn't to be. The TV personality presented a touching routine but once again she never left her partner (though the ballet lift with overhead extension was impressive).

Head Judge Robin Cousins, made it clear: "It's lovely and it's comfortable, but I still haven't seen one step that's not manipulated by the man on your right." Ouch!

The public agreed with the judges and before you could say 'here's one I made earlier', Anthea was back on the ice.

Her 'save me' performance was sadly more of the same and as Keith Chegwin skated precisely and alone, it was obvious what was to come.

Three out of four judges saved Keith and he couldn't quite believe it.

Anthea was humble in defeat and congratulated Cheggers. As she began to well up, she smiled. "I'm a bit wobbly because I'm going to miss all my friends here. Thank you so much. Dancing On Ice has the best team."

Do you think Anthea deserved to go?

All the latest news and gossip from Dancing On Ice...

By SelenaLedgerton 25/01/2013 16:51

Speaking with Eamonn Holmes on today's This Morning, Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner revealed his life has been threatened following his cutting critiques.

(C) ITV

When asked if he ever worries about what the show wants from him, Jason said, "I did up until I left, I was always on a tight rope, I didn't really understand because I was getting a lot of mixed messages... but certainly coming back into the show, I kind of now realise, that they also realise that I know what I'm doing...."

He added, "Its a nice feeling to be appreciated finally."

When asked if he missed being off the show for a year, Jason admitted, "No, I didn't! It was nice having that time out actually I think and go off and do other things - and I've moved to Madrid, which has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. It's great."

Talking about past comments and being branded a 'bully' and how it effected him, Jason confessed, "Its interesting because for the first few series it was fine, because it was 'pantomime villain' but then the tone changed, and the word bullying and death threats... I had death threats and it just became really -

You kind of think 'what world are we living in', this is a light family entertainment show and I'm just giving it some spice, but people took it so offensively."

He later added, "I'm quite colourful anyway as you know, I have kind of a wicked sense of humour and I'm not everybody's cup of tea - I also know that. But I don't mind that. Drink another variety! "

Eamonn said, "The funny thing is, before Twitter came along, most of us thought 'everybody loves us' and then Twitter comes along and then you realise that most people hate you - not just you, everybody!"

Jason replied, "I know, tell me about it! People on Twitter are so vile... well, a lot [of them] to me they are! They really rip into you but I laugh."

Ruth: "But this hasn't changed the judge that you want to be and continue to be?"

Jason replied, "No, I don't think so. It would do a disservice to the show and also to the celebrities if I didn't give them the criticism that I give. It gives them the determination and hopefully the motivation to be better."

On Ashley joining the panel, Jason said, "What's interesting, is for the first time in Dancing on Ice history is that the panel is balanced - we have two skaters and two dancing performers so they are looking at it at a very different way to the way we [Ashley and Jason] look at it, and that's why our marks are a lot lower than their marks because the celebrities up until now have really been focusing on skating and learning to skate - rightly so - but when it comes to competition, the show is called Dancing on Ice, and a lot of them are not dancing yet! They're skating, but they are not dancing and performing..."

Are you glad Jason is back?

Oona King, is the third person to leave Dancing On Ice 2013. The Baroness of Bow lost out to gymnast Beth Tweddle in The Duel.

Initially there were worries that Olympian Beth would be unable to skate after being struck down with a stomach bug, but instead it was Oona's professional partner Mark Hanretty who gave us all a scare.

(C) ITV

Beth and Oona battled it out during their duel to the Annie Lennox and Aretha Franklin classic, Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves. When it came to skating skill they were well matched but the judges were concerned about Oona's commitment and musicality.

Judge Karen Barber said: “Oona you needed to feel the confidence out there and Beth, well done for being here – fantastic job tonight.”

Jason Gardiner was less forgiving: “Baroness you live up to your title… because that was barren of any attack or conviction. It’s like you gave up and went in with a defeatist attitude.”

The panel gave the win to Beth and before you could say 'spandex and sequins', Oona found herself in the skate off against rugby star Gareth Thomas.

It was a surprise to see Gareth there and his 'save me' skate was strong. Things went from bad to worse for Oona when her partner Mark Hanretty fell and dislocated his shoulder just before they started their dance.

(C) ITV

Unbelievably, Mark skated off to physio and his shoulder was popped back in in seconds! What a hero!

Presenter Phillip Schofield couldn't believe that Hanretty was able to skate and the judging panel sympathised with Oona after such a scare - she was visibly shaken and did well to hold it together.

(C) ITV

Sadly, it wasn't enough. Jason Gardiner summed it up: "Oona, that took great courage but I have to leave emotion out of this. I'm voting for the stronger skater... Gareth."

All the latest news and gossip from the Celebrity Big Brother house...

By SelenaLedgerton 19/01/2013 18:04

Week three of Dancing on Ice 2013 will see all of the celebrity contestants take to the rink. They'll be battling it out in pairs, it's time for The Duel.

(C) ITV

Two celebrities will take to the ice with their professional partners and as the music erupts, it's head-to-head. The pressure is on. Who will impress the judges the most and who'll be in line for elimination?

Training has been difficult this week as Olympic legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have choreographed some cracking but complex routines.

Gymnast Beth Tweddle and Rugby great Gareth Thomas have both found rehearsals difficult. In fact they've spent more time hitting the ice than skating on it and Anthea Turner's struggled to skate at all as she's suffered an injury.

Two skaters who have stood out are X Factor winner Shayne Ward and EastEnder's Matt Lapinskas. Both of them have been taking on some seriously scary lifts and right now, they're flying! Well, their partners are...

Fingers crossed Shayne and Matt don't end up facing each other come Sunday. That would be a seriously hard call for the judges.

TOWIE star Lauren Goodger has been voted off Dancing On Ice 2013 in favour of presenter Anthea Turner.

(C) ITV

Lauren skated to Aretha Franklin's Rescue Me in the skate-off but as with her first performance, the nerves got the better of her. The judges agreed that the skating skills were there but she appeared to be 'just going through the motions'. Jason Gardiner was cutting comparing her to "a walrus on ice." Ouch!

(C) ITV

Anthea Turner performed to Minnie Ripperton's high-pitched classic Loving You, and the judges chose to save her as she showed more commitment.

It was a shame for Lauren as she demonstrated more footwork than Anthea during the skate-off. Anthea acknowledged that she was lucky to make it through and she would would be working on her solo skills. Well she was flung around by her partner the whole time!

When the results were revealed, Lauren said: “I have to say I’m gutted but I’m ok”. Presenter Phillip Schofield asked if she would continue skating, Lauren exclaimed: “I don’t know about that!”

Luke Campbell’s first Dancing On Ice 2013 performance is in jeopardy. His professional partner Jenna Smith has been struck down with a bug.

(C) ITV

The Olympic gold medalist has been trying to squeeze in some last minute rehearsals with his pro partner, but she has been told by doctors she needs to rest.

A source told The Sun, “Jenna has been to the doctor and told to rest up as much as possible. But obviously she can’t do that, so she’s been dragging herself to training. She’s not on top form and that won’t do them any favours for their first appearance on Sunday."

“Luke is nervous but he is determined to give everything he’s got.”

Jenna Smith tweeted during the week: “Laying in bed. I’m so sick. Boo.”

Campbell has also been skating alone during his partner's recovery. Thankfully he's been boosted by his trainer during rehearsals. “My coach says I could have made the Winter Olympics if I’d started young enough.”

Could we be in for a treat on Sunday or will Luke be forced to miss out?

Anthea Turner has said that her Dancing On Ice training has been worth it even if she is kicked off the show this weekend. "It's given me the best bum I've ever had!"

(C) ITV

She told ITV1's Lorraine show: "The toning of the body - ice skating - it's skater bum, it's amazing. I don't care even if I crash out on Sunday, I have had three months of the best bum I've ever had since I was somewhere in my 20s. In fact, even in my 20s it probably wasn't this good."

But she admitted her dyslexia had affected her performances: "I think my biggest problem has been - and we've spoken about it - I am dyslexic and dyslexics never know their right from their left. And I've had terrible trouble and the coaches are going bonkers at me going 'Do you know your right from your left?'. 'I do, just give me a moment on this and I'll get it'."

She added: "Learning to skate has been fabulous. I've got bruises everywhere but learning to skate - amazing."

Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson is the first contestant to leave Dancing On Ice. The actress lost out to presenter Keith Chegwin after a nail biting skate-off.

(C) ITV RexKeith Chegwin gave a performance packed with personality in the first part of tonight's show... and made everyone more than aware that he'd missed out last year after breaking his shoulder and three ribs.

If that wasn't enough, it was clear how much Keith loved the show and was desperate to skate. "I've been asked to do all of these shows and I only wanted to do one, this one!"

Before he performed to D:Ream's Things Can Only Get Better, Keith said: "I’ve had a whole year of thinking about the show and I'm just raring to go. After the accident, I've actually got more confidence!".

Pamela Anderson was nervous during her first performance and stumbled a few times. The judges agreed that the skating was there but her presentation needed work.

With the bottom two revealed, the final twist came. Both skaters would perform a 'save me' routine in the skate-off and not their original piece.

Sadly for Pam, she failed to hold it together. The nerves got the better of her and she slipped. Keith Chegwin gave a slow but solid performance and the judges commended him on his footwork and focus.

"I'm basing this on skating skills alone, I save Keith!"

It was a clean sweep as all four judges saved Cheggers. During her interview Pamela Anderson blamed a wardrobe malfunction for her slip. "My dress fell off and my boob popped out, it happens!"

Did the right contestant leave?
