Dancing On Ice: Andy Whyment is out!

The Coronation Street star tried his best but Elvis has left the building...

By SelenaLedgerton 04/03/2012 23:32

Andy Whyment is the next celebrity to leave Dancing On Ice. After a team challenge that doubled the ladies points and landing in the skate-off alongside Olympian Chemmy Alcott, the Coronation Street star just didn't stand a chance.

(C) Rex ImagesThe actor gave it his all as he skated to Elvis's Suspicious Minds with professional partner Vicky Ogden, but deep down he knew his time was up. "I know I'm going out so I'm gonna talk like I'm going out, I've had a fantastic time."

Chemmy didn't put a foot wrong, though her partner Sean Rice slipped on a sequin and nearly came a cropper. As both skaters waited nervously, the judges made their call.

Judge Katarina Witt was first, "Andy, you should be very proud about your performance, but Chemmy I would like to see your lift again."

Head judge Robin Cousins agreed, "Andy you've been great to watch in this series and it was a great way for you to go, but I'm saving Chemmy too."

Andy nodded in agreement and waved goodbye. "I've had an amazing time... and working with Chris and Jayne. I'd like to thank the producers of Coronation Street for letting me do the show as without them, I wouldn't be here. I'd also like to thank my wife as I've hardly been at home and I'm looking forward to spending some time with my wife and kids now."

Did the right man go?

Louie is a GREAT JUDGE!!!!!!  He can give constructive critique withour being totally-over-the-top-offensive, unlike his predecessor.  He can do this AND be amusing whilst he does it.  Long may he serve as Choreographer Judge.

As for ANDY, I am glad he is out at last!!!!!!  He skates too stiff and has no confidence on the ice.  This affects his performance making it flat and lack-lustre, and to be totally frank, booooooring.

Voters who have kept him in long past his sell by date should be utterley ashamed of themselves, because keeping this waste of ice time in has cost us some good skaters.  Just because a person happens to be in your favourite show, doesn't mean you should vote for them religiously.  Remember the name of the show people - DANCING ON ICE.

If a celebrity can't dance, and can't skate, they have no business being there.  Vote them off and leave the ice to those who can cut it.  Although I loved the character of Henry in Neighbours, Craig MacClachlan did not earn my vote last year.

Andy seems such a nice bloke but he lasted far longer in this competition than his skills predicted.  And the "small but perfectly formed homosexual"? He ROCKS!!!!

They should have kept Andy in & everyone should have voted to get the **** off the judging panel. Surely there must be other people thinking the same as me, & after the suggestions he made tonight, it must be his last turn to be a judge.
